Board of Advisors
ANTA Board of Advisors consists of individuals whose primary responsibility is to advise the President and Executive Committee on broad spectrum of issues that will be in the best interest of ANTA's vision, goals and objectives as outlined in the Bylaws. The Board of Advisors are available to represent ANTA and perform any duties requested/assigned by the Executive Committee. The will also help and oversee the smooth transfer of powers from outgoing CEC to the upcoming CEC.

Dr. Lokendra Kumar Thakur
Dr. Lokendra K Thakur is a Life Member of ANTA, Medical Director of Trident Medical Center ICU, Charleston, SC. He obtained an MD from NYMC, New York and Fellowship in Critical care medicine from Mayo Clinic, Minnesota. He is a practicing intensivist for the last 10 years in the US, worked for 12 years in Nepal, Maldives and Caribbean.
Originally from Siraha, Nepal, Dr. Thakur is deeply committed to preserving Madhesi heritage. He was founding President of a Hindu temple in Pennsylvania, USA.
Dr. Thakur is well known for his altruism. His valuable suggestions and guidance are instrumental in advancing our organizational goals.
He dreams of having a “ Museum of Madhesi Heritage “ in every district of Madhesh.

Dr. Dasharath P Lohar
Dr. Dasharath Lohar was born and grew up in Kapilvastu, Nepal, and currently resides in Cary, NC. He is a Life Member of ANTA and employed with BASF as a Seeds Stewardship Manager and Corn Crop Specialist in the Raleigh-Durham area. Dr. Lohar earned his PhD in Plant Biotechnology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an MBA in Innovation & Bioscience Management from NC State University.
Dr. Lohar is actively involved in community service. He served on the board of the Nepal Center of North Carolina (NCNC) soon after its establishment and currently serves on its advisory committee. Since 2001, Dr. Lohar has been a volunteer with Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, USA.

Mr. Mukesh Karna
Mr. Mukesh Karna is originally from Mahottari, Nepal, currently living in Fairfax, VA. He has a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and has been in the IT Industry ever since he graduated in 1996. He has worked for Mercantile (Nepal), and in different financial Institutions's IT Department in the USA.
He is also an ardent supporter of the Maithil Culture & Tradition and is always eager to help the community back in any shape and form. He joined ANTA as a Life Member and has served 2 full terms in the Central Executive Committee as a Treasurer. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Advisory Committee. Mrs. Sunita Dev
Mrs. Sunita Dev is an Accountant by profession and lives in Cary, NC.
She moved to the USA, when her father, Narayan Deo, came to do his master’s at Duke University in 1980. Her mother, Annapurna Deo, is one of the founders of ANTA.
Mrs. Dev has two children, a daughter in Medical School and a son studying to be a musician. She and her husband are very passionate about their root culture and believe that it is our duty to honor the society where we come from regardless of where we are today.

Mr. Ranjeet Babu Prasad
Mr. Ranjeet Babu Prasad, originally from Janakpur, Nepal, currently resides in San Francisco, CA. He has played pivotal roles within the local California Chapter of ANTA, actively contributing to numerous local events. His dedication is particularly notable in his support of ANTA's fundraisers, crucially during the challenges posed by the COVID years, and in organizing local cultural events across the states.
Mr. Ranjeet's initiatives in Nepal have directly enriched ANTA's projects and initiatives. His leadership extends beyond mere organizational contributions; he serves as a guiding light within the Nepalese community, inspiring others to establish their own enterprises and generate employment opportunities, thereby empowering fellow community members.
