Nepal is confronting the worst bout of COVID-19 with a massive increase in the number of infections, hospitalizations, and deaths. The national authorities have no resources and capacity to cope up with the overwhelming situation that is unfolding rapidly. The actual ground statistics of the death toll and human tragedy are believed to be multiple times worse than that of the published government data. The situation is really dire and grim with no hospital beds and oxygen supply. The poor and vulnerable population are left to their own devices where they face the double perils of lives and livelihoods in days to come.
